Jun 6 - Managing Your Communications in an Accelerated World
Location: VRCA Vancouver Training Room
This workshop will also address strategies for managing email, phone messages, texting, and dealing with multiple platforms (smartphone, laptop, iPad). Later we will consider how to leverage social media applications such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Youtube and APPs to your advantage. Strategies will be presented through a series of “5-Minute Marketing” tips on these subjects, where insights will be given and then applied to the construction industry. Expect to leave with new ideas, and solid profit driven and time saving strategies to manage your communications.

May 24 - Construction Business Management (Gold Seal Certified)
Location: VRCA Abbotsford Classroom (Behind and below the Keg Restaurant)
The course is designed for construction owners, managers, estimators, supervisors and staff. Participants will learn how to improve the management and systems of their construction company.

May 30 - Fundamentals of Infection Control During Construction, Renovation and Maintenance of Healthcare Facilities
Location: VRCA
Construction, renovation and maintenance activities are a significant cause of potentially fatal infections for the occupants of any healthcare facility. This course focuses on application of CSA 317.13-07 Infection Control during Construction, Renovation and Maintenance of Healthcare Facilities to address necessary measures and help control risk. The key topics in the course are risk factors / sources of healthcare facility infections, effective procedures during construction, renovation and maintenance, and Infection prevention and control measures for renovation and/or new construction projects.

May 31 - Project Management (Gold Seal Certified)
Location: VRCA Vancouver office
The Project Management course is designed for construction owners, project managers, estimators, supervisors and staff. Participants will learn how to do project planning and create systems for successful completion of construction projects.

Jun 6 - Your Company's Carbon Footprint - what it is and why it matters
Location: VRCA Vancouver Training Room
While many businesses want to reduce their carbon emissions, they may find the prospect overwhelming. Where to start? What to measure? How to keep track of their progress? The task can be daunting and often inhibits them from taking the first step. This workshop is designed to give participants an introduction to measuring, tracking and reducing corporate greenhouse gas emissions. We are confident that this will be an excellent investment to reduce operating costs and build brand value in an area of strategic importance.

The course is designed for construction owners, managers, estimators and supervisors, to improve skills in leadership, management and supervision of staff. Participants will learn skills to enhance their ability to build a collaborative team culture with their staff and on job sites.

Safety Courses

May 26 - Industrial/Commercial Fall Protection - End User Course
Location: VRCA Training Room
The end-user program is a one-day class in fall protection which references WorkSafeBC standards as well as Canadian Standard Association fall protection equipment standards. Students who complete the end-user training will receive certification from the training agency that is valid for 3 years. Now Part of the STAR-COR Program.
